James Chambers, Indian enthusiast and one of the organizers was towing the line getting an article together so I have jumped to the rescue in a bid to get this one some recognition before the next one comes around!.
Forgive me for concentrating  on the Indian aspect of the show, all credit due to the multitude of other brands like
Henderson, Harley, Vincent, Triumph, Norton, Ariel, BSA, Panther, Rudge, Douglas, BMW, Moto Guzzi, Matchless, AJS, Chiang Jang to name a few. But after all 2001 is Indians 100th anniversary and the theme of this website.

A turnout of 175 plus classics on what was a pretty miserable day never prevented several thousand visitors. Of the 175, 25 or so were Indians and we had center stage of the hall with James, Adrian, Tony and I setting up a podium the night before.

Some of these Injins came from quite a distance with Ebo bringing his rare 1925 Prince (year of the wedge English style tank) from Hamilton for what was just a one day event (this one was so successful the next one is hoped to be two days).

Keeping this Prince company  was Richards 28 Prince, numerous 741 scouts,  several pre '28 Scouts, some with sidehacks (all 37"),  a PowerPlus, three 101 Scouts - two recently completed and one rolling basket, Tiny's '36 Standard Scout,  Steves 841, my 26 Chief, Adrian's 44 Chief, Dave's 47 Chief,   my 51 Chief, Rexs 741's - a  racer named Running Bird  and his big bore maxed out chopper.

The oldest was a '16 Powerplus and the latest my '51 Chief. James hoped to have a 1905 Hendee 'Camel back' from a collection in Palmerston but sadly that didn't eventuate .
Little wonder it picked up the best stand award as our display was nicely set off with a good collection of petrolinia, signs, and Indian oil cans that everyone pitched in and bought along. I also bought down a couple of completed early scout motors, breaking two fins off in the process! < aarrggh the things we do for love >

Well, the day was a huge success, the weather mostly held out and the Plunket ladies kept everyone fed with an all day sausage sizzle and tea, coffee and cakes.
The hall was always full with the steady stream of visitors and those who didn't want to pay to come in had their own show outside the hall and could get a taste of what was inside with a selection of mounts in the foyer. I gave the organizers a  hundred and fifty Indian collector cards which the kids gladly pocketed when Dad bought the tickets.

Well that's all I can recall to contribute at this stage, James, you owe me big time and  if you have any addition or corrections give me a holler.

Thanks to all the members and spectators who made the show a success, a special thanks to the Indian tribe and anyone who voted for James 101 (dark blue)  or my Chief resulting in several coveted wins for Indian over all the other brands and fine examples displayed that day.
